What's the process?

The Volunteer Friendly Award has been designed to be an effective and involving six-step process.

It ensures that your volunteers receive the best possible support, and your organisation receives maximum benefit from your volunteers’ contribution.

How long does it take?

There is no fixed deadline, but we would expect organisations to complete the six steps within 6 to 9 months.

What are the requirements?

Volunteer Friendly offers three different options to achieving the award.

The requirements are set at an achievable level for each volunteer programme, allowing for more groups to engage and be recognised for the work they do.

How much does it cost?

Income of £100,000 or less per annum and un-constituted group:

FREE

Income between £100,000 and £150,000 per annum:

£49.99

Income between £150,000 and £200,000* per annum:

£99.99

*Groups and organisations with an income of more than £200k, please contact us for a supportive conversation to explore your options within our Quality Framework.

  • One to one support to achieve the award
  • One to one support to develop your volunteer programme
  • Engagement with volunteers
  • Maintain the award for three years
  • Three-year membership for achievers
  • Achievement certificate and digital badge

The Volunteer Friendly website is managed by Volunteer Scotland and run in partnership with the TSI Scotland Network, Volunteer Ireland and Volunteer Now.
